Childcare vouchers news: New kids club ''offers something different''
Parents who spend their childcare vouchers at a new kids club in Cambridgeshire can expect their little ones to be given "something a little bit different" to do this summer.
The ButterPillar Club in Upwell aims to teach important life lessons and give yongsters practical skills, reports the Wisbech Standard.
Sam Channon set up the holiday club after struggling to find a suitable place to care for her own offspring.
Football, pony riding and singing in a recording studio are among the activities on offer at Upwell Community Primary School, where the group will be based.
"There has been little for chidlren to do in Upwell and the surrounding villages during the holiday season, but the ButterPillar Club is set to change that," Ms Channon remarked.
Last month, the Forum for Future''s Growing Pains report urged the coalition government to overhaul the benefits offered to families, including childcare vouchers.
It stated that doing so would help society to regulate the population as a ten million rise by 2020, as predicted by the Office for National Statistics recently, could be environmentally unsustainable.
