Importance of allowing social network websites at work could increase
A social media expert has predicted that Facebook could soon become an even more ubiquitous destination for Generation-Y workers after it launched new currency exchange app that could see shopping on the site increase.
Tim Gibbon, the editor and co-founder of Social Media Portal, said that the launch of Buxter was one of many that could help to make become Facebook a shopping "destination".
He said: "Facebook is making concerted efforts to enter the retail e-commerce space, and this may be another channel that may do it for the social utility.
"If more storefronts were created, Facebook storefront applications could see the world''s largest social network emerge as a very powerful destination for online shopping."
ClickandBuy have launched the new Facebook application that allows users to register and load their own ''e-wallet'' in euro or US dollars with a limit of 50 [£45] currently.
The launch of Buxter comes the day after employers were advised to put a social network policy in place to avoid being abused by staff members.
